Lock Loops

Last night I rolled my hair using lock loop rollers and the Jane Carter wrap solution. They are so soft to sleep in and they are not hard to use at all. I woke up this morning took the rollers out and just ran my fingers through the curls to separate them and viola here are the results which I am totally ecstatic over. My hair has somewhat of a style it looks so much fuller and the curls are extremely bouncy. I can't wait to see how long the curls will last, but I know that this will definitely be a staple hair style choice that I put in my arsenal.

BTW...excuse my eyes my allergies are on full blast this week.

I love seeing blogs from newbies like me. My sisterlocks were installed on February 22-23rd, 2009. It helps to share the natural journey with other sisters.

Your hair is really nice. I purchased the Lock Loops as well and it has been a life saver!

BTW, thanks (again) for responding to my post in LockItUp in reference to cutting permed/pressed ends ;-)

A Sista Who Locked thanks for stopping by..the Lock Loops have also been a life saver for me to...but my curls don't seem to last longer than two days.

I have issues with keeping curls when I DON'T use the Motions Foam Wrap Lotion. It has been the best and least expensive, and it has not left my hair feeling nasty, flaky, or full of build up. I typically apply the lotion, braid my hair, then roll them in the loops. I also found that using less hair when braiding and rolling works wonders with keeping curls longer. Once the curls start to fall, it leaves a soft nice crinkle look.

I currently use the Jane Carter wrap and foam, it doesn't leave my hair sticky feeling and no build up but maybe it doesn't have enough hold like the Motions. I don't braid my hair up before rolling it though, I will try that. Do you braid yours up because of the processed ends?

I actually braid my hair up because that's the way my consultant styled it after my installation, so I have been doing it that way ever since. Plus I like the fact that I still have some kind of style when it falls. Let me know how that works for you if you try it. I am sure it will be nice.

You bring up an interesting point. I left my consultant shop at midnight the first night in bantu knots, not what I would call a style. For the retightening I left in a hurry (I always late for something) but I didn't really get a style. It was more like unbraid an viola. Hmmm...I have to address this, but I will definitely try the braid and roll this weekend because I'm taking family portraits tomorrow.

Your hair is lovely and after a few washes it still looks great. gives me encouragemnet because I'm sared to wash my hair, d/t fear of slippage.

@Charizma00 - Thanks! I was careful to follow my consultants advice for the first two months. The first wash she did and then I waited two weeks exactly to wash myself. I still had slippage which I think is normal to experience in the beginning regardless.
