Oyin's Juice's and Berries

Update:

Oyin's is RECOMMENDED.  This morning, my hair is not sticky, my curls are still extremely bouncy and tight which means that it did not weigh my hair down.  Although, I cannot smell the aroma personally I'm sure it smells much better than what my hair has been smelling like!  Go out and get it ladies!! Its a keeper for the arsenal!  It states its a moisturizer so I will be using this 3x a week and continue washing weekly.  I'm also hoping this will solve my issue of seeing white bulbs in the front.

Ok, so I'm going on a tangent, but using the SL starter shampoo has brought out more white bulbs in the front, but I'm positive that once my hair has sealed in the middle that this will no longer be an issue.  However, I'm going to try and combat the issue with a deep conditioning moisturizer that I received from the retightening class.  I'm going to use this after shampooing and let it sit for about 15 minutes with a cap and hopefully that will help..and of course I will let you know how it goes (smile).

My Oyin Juices and Berries (see previous post discussing this) finally arrived today, I ordered on 9/2 and viola 17 days later I got it. Luckily they warn you when you order that it will take no less than 2 weeks to receive the product because they are specially made to order. The spritz could not have arrived with better timing because I washed my hair last night and put some lock loops in and I curled them really tight and this is what I have.
I spritzed some of the Juices & Berries a few minutes ago and I'm hoping that it won't weigh my curls down or be greasy to the touch later tonight. As I stare at this picture, look at the dirty ashy look of my ends, YUCK!  I may have to try dying or at least rinsing my hair sooner than later, this looks pretty bad to me.

You must have read my mind! I was just sitting here this afternoon thinking:"I wonder how Gigglz is getting on with that juice?"

Gizzlz, thanks for the update. As soon as my consultant releases me to use products on my locks I'm going to try the juice. I am now one month into my loc transition and, per my consultant, not putting anything in my hair yet. You have a great blog. You hair is beautiful!

@Mile High - its the hardest not to use products at first. Then you realize I don't even need anything, but I'm a junkie and I just want my hair to smell like you want to eat it!

Thanks for the compliments!!! You will see so many changes from the first month.

Gigglz, are you letting your hair hair dry? I had the 'white bulb' issue and the ONLY thing that solved my issue was some V05 clarifying shampoo (Yes it's cheap, but it worked to help get all of that caked up dirt and sand left over from the beach, and I don't have crunch or dryed out locs), and 5 to 10 minutes of blow drying. I know you want to stay away from heat, but it has worked miracles for me, and I don't use a lot of heat either. Just a thought. I am checking out Oyin now.

Yeah I'm letting it air dry. So the clariying shampoo is the answer. You know I'm headed out for the shampoo at lunch tomorrow--any particular kind from VO5? Or just make sure its clarifying? I'm no longer experiencing crunchy or dry locks but the white bulbs are a pain in the azz!!! I will try that though without the heat, my next wash!! Thanks for the tip, its a learning experience!

I bought the VO5 Herbal Escapes Kiwi Lime Squeeze Clarifying Shampoo. If that didn't do the trick, I was going to try Prell... Remember that? LOL. Anyway, I don't really use a conditioner because I am still in that 'I don't want to add to much moisture' phase. Every now and then, I will use a leave-in conditioner. I will squeeze just a little bit on my hand, add some water, rub my hands together, and then add it to my ends. Please let me know what you think. I honestly don't know if it was the shampoo OR the the dryer or if it was both. I just know for the LONGEST I could not figure out how to get rid of those bulbs, and I was not about to go loc by loc with tweezers just to get them out, and the only reason I even got the V05 was to get the sand out of my hair and it ended up doing the trick for the bulbs. The Bronner's was not doing the trick and desperate times caused for me to research and get a better shampoo.

Prell --hmm the name sounds familiar, but I don't remember. Girl all I remember is Creme of Nature and jherri curls!! LOL!

I'm going to certainly try the VO5, its 99 cents, can I really go wrong!! Hehe! Hopefully that does the trick. I don't use conditioner at all either, I was just wondering since loose naturals use "no poo".
