Blast from the Past

This picture was taken one year ago (January), before even making my final decision on SL's.  I mixed up a concoction of shea butter, aloe vera gel, and jojoba oil what a greasy mess. I pulled it through my hair and took my daughter to ballet lessons-thinking I was cute. I got home looked in the mirror to see that in the back I had yellow crap just hanging on to my hair strands. Yeah too much shea butter....certainly don't miss those days!!!

Its good to reflect on where you have been to understand how far you have come :-).

Lets Take it Back!!

I just started on my retightening today and I'm feeling oh so lazy!!!! I do enjoy doing my own hair, but I have so much more I need to get done this week, but I have to find the time because I don't want my locks going longer than 4 weeks without a retightening.  Did you know that your roots can get weak if you go to long without a retightening...well I'm not willing to chance it.  I do have my hair appt set for 11/14 just so I can get a style for no good reason.  I don't even have any plans, but I want to see what can be done.  Check out the pictures to this salon and let me know what you think, you might even get some ideas for yourself  http://www.myspace.com/greenspherelove.  There is also a licensed consultant there, but you know how it goes, I have to go for a consultation before she can work on my locks.  Yada, yada!  So styling it is for now, but knowing myself I may cancel.  

In another post I mentioned that I'm not so in awe of my locks like I have been. But I went looking at some old pictures of how I wore my hair, and I really liked how I looked with kinky twists which of course gave me the courage to take the plunge with sisterlocks.  So here is my blast from the past....now I'm almost there with my own hair and looking better than ever!!! I love my Sisterlocks.

As time went on I strayed away from weaves and strictly did braids 18" jet black was the only way to go!!

Then I went back to an oldie but goodie kinky twist and I asked myself, why can't my own hair look like this and the lightbulb went on. Of course my hair can look like that I just need to embrace the natural texture and take the plunge....

Another curl look...I see a pattern all the shots are taken in my car...oops and I was driving with this one look at the cars in the background!

This one goes back, but another signature look I loved the big cascading curls! See my adorable baby in the background!!!

This was one of my many short cuts that I reverted to after my hair broke off from what I now know as the "creamy crack"!!! LOL!
